Okay this Viper just keeps going on and on with issues as I am trying to put it back together after that stupid top bearing on the chain case blew apart and created my journey of hardship! Now I need to ask HOW do I get the brake to work again? Firstly I did not replace that little o ring that sits in the housing, I did not put new banjo washers on the brake line, reason was the o ring looked in good shape it was above the housing if looking at it across so I thought it would seal. The banjo washers(copper) looked fine and there is no oil leaking anywhere in these mentioned areas. I did the procedure for bleeding as the shop manual required. Air bled out of nipple, lots of oil. I did notice that when working the lever that there was some discolored oil coming back into the reservoir. The brake worked once after I had it apart but I had to remove the caliper again and now it will not pump up or hold. Any thoughts before I go ordering more parts again?

you might need a brake bleeder to suck the air out of the system through the bleeder screw. if i remeber correctly, you can buy a hand pump model at canadian tire or your local auto parts store.

I find it helps if u shove the pistons all the way back into the caliper before re assembly

Great suggestions guys. Couple more
Open bleeder a lot like two full turns at least
If all else fails back bleed it

I agree with Cannondale, when I did mine I had the same trouble. Turns out that I just wasn't opening the bleeder screw enough.

I’m gonna squeeze the 2 pistons in then pump oil back up to the resivour. See if this will work! But may I ask why is this such a pain? Vehicle brakes bleed easier !

The banjo bolt at the handlebars sometimes needs cracked to let air out also.

There is no reason to take brake apart like that, all you need to do is pull pin holding the pads in take pads out unbolt caliper and slide both out and take rotor out !!!

As most said push piston (both ) in all the way , start up at master , then down at caliper bolt then bleed screw
