well guys just install the 06 bars on my 07 attak and what a difference....i could not ride the sled with the factory warmers...now i run between 1-4 bars on gauge, before they were on full hot and i still got cold....i talked with yamaha about this being my sled is under warranty and asked if there was any updates for the 07 sleds....guy told me to run gauntlets....what i joke that was spend 10 grand plus on a sled that i cant even drive....he said as long as they work they cant do anything else....well i fixed the problem on my own with the help of TY...07 guys plug in a set of 06 bars and they will work

Where did you find them? How much?

found them from on guy here on ty paid $50 for the bars...well worth the money....and if i ever do have cdi problems because of it yamaha will be the ones paying for it...

Do you mean you installed 06 handlebars on the 07 Attak? I also have an 07 Attak with cold hands and looking for a fix...

yes thats the fix....look it up in the FAQ section....i believe rockerdan found this out among other....get a set of original 06 bars.....many dealers have these left over from installing the 07 updated ones on the 06 sleds....many just threw them away...same bars same harnesses about 30 min of work....i also have a 2" rise so my bars are above the windy....
-40 C and my hands were still warm...you wont need much over half on the warmer setting....

The 07 bars are better than the 06 bars, but not by much. It's the 06 bars with the 07 harness that works, and works well.

I made the switch as well and love the fix. I've got 6000 miles on the sled since I did the update with no ECU problems. I think its important though not to run the warmes higher than half way as Rocker Dan had suggested.
Your hands will be plenty warm at half power anyway.

i also made the switch to the 07' harness w/ my 06' bars and its a night and day differnce in them. well worth it and i dont have to run much past 2 bars.

What is different with the 06 bars to make the handwarmers much better? Are they insulated, are the ends less exposed to the windchill, etc?

I have the 07 Attak and would try to find the 06 bars but wondering why this would work without changing anything else...

the 06 bars have heated grips compared to the heated tape on the 07's i believe, the 06's do not have the heated ends that turn down but your hands are on the bars 99% of the time maybe on the hook for a turn then back on to the bar....the bars are the same rise and shape...the 06 ones are less resistance which in turn makes them hotter...tried mine for a few trips now works great...many others have used the 06 bars on a 07 for a few years already with no problems...do it you won't be sorry....
