Re: "Want Hot hands" post

Now I'm really confused! Here's is what I believe to be true
I have an 07 model maufactured in 06! Probably a new release 07 that was bought at the end of the season in 06! Ergo I have the 06 handle bars and the sled is truly an 06! I think???
So I believe that I need to put the sub lead in with my factory 06 bars to make them hot?
Spare me the engineering lingo! I believe this to be true???

(assuming you want to run Dan's successful hot grip mod and are willing to run the grips and ECU out of spec).

If your sled is an 06 it needs the "sub-lead" and nothing else.

If your sled is an 07 it needs the 06 bars and nothing else.

I suggest you read through some of this thread if you need to confirm this:

I notice on my stock 07 Attak the right grip I belive gets hotter first..

I traded yesterday with my wifes 03 Vax and my hands did get burnnt. She complained about her hands were freezing. She didn't know about the new Yami grip issue. I filled here in..She'll never ride my sled again. Ha/ :jump:

Anyone know what the wiring harness upgrade on the grips for a Phazer is about? Someone here said it makes the 07 bars hotter then stock.

Yes Rex and I believe the only real way to tell whether it's an 06 and not an 07 is by the bars. My hadle bars are 2 piece not 1 piece like the new ones

Does anyone know the part number for the "sub-lead" to make this mod work. tried looking on the yamaha fiche and couldn't find it, and my dealer just looks at me like i have 2 heads. I have a 2006 apex gt with stock bars and cold hands. thank you

I just finally got around to installing my updated bars after a year and they work great so far. Went with the mountain bars and what a difference for me being 6' 4", a lot more comfortable and now I can even stand if needed with out being hunched over. They also have the grab bar which helps coming up the side of hills and is why I originally went with them.
