The number for the cover is 8FR-47543-01-00. However if there is a free update I want to know that program number. My dealer told me $141.95.
After having mine off for a gear change, don't really find any reason for the original cover to have a fault. The seal is well captured. Make sure to torque the screws properly. I used 25 lbs/ft based on break-away torque then pull up torque to align capscrew heads back to original position before break-away, which turned out to be the same as the brerak-away torque. Don't know what the factory specs are.

MY dealer, Fix power sports, MN, states there is no recall or warrenty issue, BUT they- YAMAHA- are aware of the concern and some failures and they were instructed to inspect and if leak or warp observed to address and I was told mine was fine.
I filled it with 8 oz of mobile 1 synthetic 75 90 gear lube for what that is worth. l

Thanks! I only have 120 miles on my 06, bought last spring. It is going into the dealer for the bar update, and wanted to get the chaincase done if it was a recall or warranty item.
