hi just wondering if anyone has some clutch alignment specs and or some suggestions on things to check on an 09 nytro rtx se i blew 5 belts in 400miles never blew one befor i blew the first one on this trip then everytime i held it opean for a matter of 2miles it would blow another and not just blow but seperate every belt into. 2 halfs thanks

Ok Tell us if you have done something or anything to your sled, clutch, track, snow and weather conditions, Temperature, new/old belts, broken in belts, Yamaha belts, etc????????

stock sled 10000km same track hard packe groomed trails -10 was on a trail called piston ally litterly wide opean for 15 minutes blew first belt the keep blowing them if i opeaned it up after that at 5000km i bent and replaced my front subframe i wanna check my clutch alignment and i need the offset specs but if that all check out the i need some other stuff to check or ideas thanks

Sheave offset:
13.5 ~ 16.5 mm (0.53 ~ 0.65 in)
Did you break-in any of the belts you blew up?

they were all the ppls i was riding withs spare belts that the broke in befor putting them in for spares expensive 400 miles lol

Also put a straight edge on the primary sheeve to check if it has become "dished". The hard Yamaha belts do this to the primary after 6-8000 miles and belt life suffers. You can use some sandpaper and a straight edge to square them back up a bit (with the engine running and belt off), or cut them on a lathe if they are not to far gone

deflection check out ok sheeve alignment was within spec found that the primary actully had a touch of movement tightend play went awAy oit for a ride now 150 km decided to opean it up all the was boom belt blown in 2km wide opean primary sceems to have a little movement agian so maby i have to figure out y that keeps loosening up i fid the 2 step tightening proceduer dont want to opean it up to see but possible over reving ? the wear pattern on the primary is like 1/4 inch from top rpm at 90 km is 6-65 hundred rpm 100km is up to 72 ish 110km is 76-78 hundered theses sceem on any ideas 6 belts in 500 miles now

i am having the same issue and posted "first 100miles...... blew 2 belts" check out some of the suggestions the guys had there......

Rage Man:

Piston Alley eh? Yeah there is another name name for that streatch of interstate trail.....The Blown Beltway...I digress.

Like Cherry08, check your clutch temperatures first bu you probably have a clutch problem more than an alignment issue. I'd check your bushings (primary and secondary) for wear.

Good luck

OTM

found that all 3 plastic bushings the helix runs on aare groves half way through will replace this week think thats enough to cause that issue also THE PRIMARY CLUTCH I CAN MOVE IN AND OUT JUST A LITTLE BIT BUT THERES DEFENTALLY MOVEMENT IS THIS NORMAL ON THE NYTROS I KNOW ON PERVIOUS SLEDS OF MINE AND DADS APEX TYHATS NOT THE CASE

Yes it's normal to a degree. There is some excess play on the stub shaft.

Did you check your clutch weights for flat spots. This happens on high milage 3 cylinders.

im thinking more it was -10 and you blew a belt, put a new one on and then tried to go 100.
cant take a belt that cold thats been stuck in a belt clip and put it on and expect it to go 100 within 2 minutes. need to put it on and ride it easy for a bit warming it up and getting it flexible. -10 that belt wants to stay a figure 8 like it was in the spare belt holder. start running it fast before it warms up and WAMM delamination! been there done that on the lake before.
