Just bought an '08 Nytro and will be doing some mods over the summer. I am not happy with the stock clutching heck, I think my '99 SX 600 could spank it in a 1000ft and would shoot off a corner a lot quicker. Which clutch kits have you guys tried and liked/disliked? I am looking for a setup for riding tight, twisty woods trails more than anhthing.

If you're '99 SX 600 could spank your Nytro I think there's something wrong... Not sure what model you have but I've heard traction can be an issue as well with the short track models and the stock ripsaw.

Funny thing, I'm actually from Elk Mound but live in Woodville now.

I forgot to add that I'm shopping around for clutching as well. It seems like I've heard good and bad about almost everything out there but I've read a lot of good reviews about Ulmer setups and technical support.

Hard to beat the Schmidt Bros Stage II kit for the tight trails but you will lose a little top end after the install.

How much top end should you expect to loose?

What about the Schmidt Bros comfort clutch ...has anyone installed this and what would be the benefits ...I am just looking to get rid of the jerky takeoff and more control in the tight trails ..don't like the way I have to be on and off the throttle in tight situations, and don't like being almost thrown over the windshield when u put her in reverse

SX 600 is going to spank your Nytro?.....after reading your post I think each one of us on this site are a little dumber now than before we read this.

I'll assume your SX 600 has alot of mods...cause in stock form there is no way 95hp is gonna run with 138ish HP, especially considering that a Nytro will run with alot of bigger iron upwards of 800-1000 ft. But to answer your question pretty much much anyones clutch kit is better than stock. As mentioned Schmidt Bros stuff is popular. Ulmer makes a great kit and the Super Torqer Drag n Flys work great with Turks black spring set up....just depends on what you're looking for.

thats what the comfort clutch will do for you.

I never rode my nytro w/out the SB comfort clutch kit installed, however I did ride my Phazer with stock clutching which is supposed to be very similar to the stock nytro clutching, and I can tell you the comfort clutch is fantastic. Probably one of the top mods you can do for general rideabliity and it is crazy cheap too ($150) and only takes a few minutes to install with basic tools. I literally got tossed off my phazer a few times when I needed finessed throttle. The Nytro with comfort clutch is a whole new game.

before claiming your are now "...dumber then before..." maybe you should stop and ask yourself what was done to the SX600. next time you have a comment like this KEEP IT TO YOURSELF!!!

Better yet, bring your sled over next winter and line it up with my SX so you can experiance the spanking yourself!!!
