I took a look at the S.B. STage II kit. Looks like it is primary weight, roller, helix and spring changes. Anyone know the specifics of each of these parts? I don't know that I want to spend $380 on my clutching just yet. I only have 180 miles on this sled and may want to ride some more before determining what I don't like and do like throughout the RPM range and riding conditions. I may want to incorporate one or two of the changes the kit makes at a time to see what effects they have vs. how I like the sled to perform.
I have not looked in the Tech pages yet but, did Turk have any setups for Nytro's? I 've used his setups in the past and really liked them.

Yes Turk did, I mentioned it in my reply. Drag n Flys with the black spring works very well...more of a mottom end mid range set up...no real difference in top end. Just the weights and spring, seconday stock. I've played with helix's and have found zero gains over the way Turk had it set up...great back shift, great corner to corner set up.

After looking into this I now have to add the stage 2 to the long list of summer mods. Should be an entirely new sled in the fall. No more trenching, no more whiplash, yahoo!

I am looking at both Ulmer and Schmidt bros clutch kits also for next season. I have an 08 MTX 153 where I want it to be clutched for flatland specs....lake running, bush trails, breaking trail and hillclimbs.
Ulmer told me he can set me up. Haven't spoken to Schmidt yet. Ulmer is a little cheaper. Still trying to decide who's is better.
I have this on the list of further mods to do this summer also. Unfortunately, I don't get to the mods until Dec when it is freezing in my unheated garage.

I ran both Ulmer and Hauck in my XTX. Both kits work good and showed improvements.
I would say the edge goes toward Hauck.

Thanks for all the input guys!!!
I live near Hauck so I may take it up to them next season and see if they will let me "play" with a few of their setups to see if they have one that fits my sled and riding style.

I installed sb stage 2 kit and was not impressed at all bone stock nytros where kicking my butt on the lake id takem to about 80 then they where passing me and always had about 5 more mph top end than my sled. Just throw a trail super charger kit on it and save the money all the other mods cost.

SBM comfort clutch works great. Smooth reverse action and great off the line! beat buddys stock Nytro every time.

if you havent changed your track to a larger lug track, with those mods in your sig and clutching and you are still slower sounds like you need to do more clutch tweeking than just throwing on the clutch kit and calling it good. you should be 5-10 sled lengths ahead and pulling away at 1000 compared to a bone stock nytro with the mods in you sig...

I installed the Schmidt bros comfort clutch on my 2012 XTX. Much easier to load and unload(no jerky take off). I didn't notice any difference in full throttle take offs seem similar to stock only easier engagement at lower RPM's. Schmidt bros told me I could upgrade to stage 2 and only buy parts needed just let them know. Great guy's to deal with.
