NLViper said:Revster I see you have the oft block of plate. Do you have an under tunnel exhaust or did you just modify the plate to fit the set up you have?
Modified. I cut a hole for the exhaust to pass thru. It greatly reduced the ice build-up and I had no heat issues.

Well with the on going work I did on the sled during the year I ended the season very happy with the sled. I had my ups and downs with it but in the end I've decided to keep it.
So, plans for the summer:
Excell wheel kit
Replace skid rails (still need one or would buy both if anyone has some)
Jackshaft bearing
Driveshaft bearing
Replace missing track clips
Replace exhaust donuts
New sliders
Change oils
That is the planned stuff. I'll see what else I find when I take the sled apart.

Yeah I know. I'm not working with much of a budget this summer so the Hindle system will likely get passed over.

Glad to see you keeping the sled revster! I plan on borrowing some of your ideas this summer to make mine more off-trail oriented. Lots of great work and I really like the real world feedback on your mods.

I'm adding to my to do list. I believe I am going to switch the drag n' fly kit out for the Boss Performance kit. ...all the feedback I've heard backs up Scott's dyno charts. If anyone else has feedback let me have it.
I'm also thinking of painting my hood. I'm kind of stuck between camo to match my skis or just black. ...we shall see.

Well, I've got a sale pending on the boat so when that is sold I'll have it out of the garage and have room to start working on the sled.
Right now I'm trying to decided between 136" and 144" (again).
I've decided to replace my damaged rails with Ice age ones however I just can't decided how long to go.
136: I loved the sled as a 136 and this will be the most economical way to go and the least amount of work. It's also better for around here. The down side is when I go to the mountains. (although my buddy's XTX didn't go anywhere I didn't. )
144: I will have to buy a new tunnel extension and a new track. I will also have to do the work associated with installing those items. (not that big of deal.) I don't need a 144 around home it would be for when I go to the mountains which accounts for about 20% of my annual riding.
Well if you've got some good points on the topic please let me know what you think. I'm sure 144 would be great, but is the cost justified?

the 144 might fit with the tunnel ext already on it, i would check with who u bought it from, and if u are already replacing rails then the biggest cost is going to be the track, just a thought. ive never ridden a 136 but put a 144 oft tip up on mine and love it.

Missing track clips pretty much is telling you to replace the track. Go 144"...

If you might get a new track regardless I personally would tip up a 144, I don't think it would handle any differently than the 136- things like slider wear and ride comfort may be slightly different (someone with experience may know).
Even if you are not tipping up the 144 I don't know how much difference you would find in handling- not much more track on the ground with the 144.

I have build 4 stokes like you with 136" tracks but for going out to the mountains once and a while the 144 is perfect for the extra weight of the 4 strokes. My cat 136" crossfire 1000 went through just as much in the mountains as my apex mtn.Just using an example you need more track for the 4 stroke because of the weight.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I won't need a new 136" track, It just needs a couple of clips (Nytro skid's fault).
Right now I'm leaning towards a 136 again. It will cost me the least (by far) and I don't think I need a 144. In the Mountains I went everywhere that the 144s went with my 136. So I might as well save the money and spend it elsewhere. But who knows I may change my mind again.
