Lol, I don't live in Toronto fella...clearly states in my profile where I'm from...however I can't see where you are from as you have not filled that required info out...site rules sport. Name calling...really? That's not the type of behaviour tolerated on this site. Now as for not knowing what I'm talking about...I posted my findings about the fuel mileage of the Nytro and 800 Etech...your $10-12 better per fill up is BS from what I observed...sorry if you don't like my findings...but the funny thing is, it's been well documented that the 800 Etech isn't phenominal on gas....the 600 Etec might be, but the 800 isn't. I'm pretty much done hearing about how much better your 800 Etech is on gas than every other one out there...move on....if you wanna keep up your banter with me, take it to pm.

Ahh at least i got laugh out of you all one can do is post there findings . At least you finally figurered it out the 600etec is incredible on fuel and much better than a 800 it just took you a while to come out of the shaddows and admit it . It was 10 or 12 but the last time 5 or 6 dollars and 3 litres on the groomed trail . I think you put a hex on my mileage . Its like everything else you got take into consideration who is putting the information out there .. If only some people's Bs was linked to snowfall amounts we would be all happy.. Happy sledding shaddows just having a little fun with ya take care

Ran my 2010 Nytro XTX out of gas right at 124 miles on the trip odometer. That was smooth fast groomed trails south of Timmins. That was also using the gas tank sleeve trick. I only use the "trick" if I am going to be riding immediately after filling up. Otherwise gas will usually expand and flow out of the overflow. Havn't had it happen yet though. The 2010 Skidoo Renegade 800 I was riding with ran out of gas 300 feet before mine did. I'm content with that range as it was an error in planning on our part that ended up with 2 sleds out of gas.

I just did 86 miles of trail riding tonight, and filled up the sled exactly the same way both before and after my ride. I got 14.33 mpg. I was relatively easy on the throttle, and not much for high speed runs down the straight a ways. I was also breaking in a new belt during half the trip, so i didnt go over 65-70 much during that time.
Not sure what this is worth to anyone, but see mods listed below, those didnt help or hurt my mileage, as i averaged upper 13's to mid 14's last year, without the add-ons.

I've gotten about 16 mpg each of the past three winters with my '09 XTX - until now. For some reason, this year I can't do any better than 14 mpg! What gives? All service was done, new plugs, shocks rebuilt, TrailTank added, and now only 14 mpg. I don't think the ethanol levels have changes in the fuel - anybody else???

I just did 155 km and it took 22L
Combination river high speed and fast trail.
Warm weather -1'c
I think this is 18 mpg?
I always use #1 gas 91octane shell Vpower

Last weekend rode with 2009 Cat 800 EFI, 2011 E-Tec 800 and 600 Rotax SDI, we all used the same about fuel to within 1ga difference @ ~13mpg.

Got to agree with Caper on this one. It really does depend on your flipper technique. Nice smooth transitions in speed and consistant throttle position have a major impact. Best achieved this winter in ideal groomed trail conditions was 101.2 miles while burning 22.2 liters. Approx. cruising speed was 40-45 mph.

As bad as I think my range is on my sled, I always beat those who I ride with at the pump. I'm typically riding with skidoo guys, and small engine skidoo's (both are standard Rev's - one a 550F, and the other a 440 race sled). If we go out for a ride and start out on a full tank I woop them by easily 4-7 litres at fill up over a 100km ride. Usually by the time I'm empty, so are they. I put my Yammy gas can caddies on if I know I'm going to be in the boonies for insurance. I love the look on their face when we compare the cost at the pump! - it never gets old!
I have a600 etec and have gotten up to 24 miles a gallon candian. I just bought a nytro rtx for next year. I know this does not help this year but I will give as honest as I can difference at trail speeds what the difference is in mileage. I ride nothing but groomed trails an very consitent with my flipper averaging appoximately 55 to 60 mile a hour on the railway beds an obviously slower in the tight twisties. I will give as honest a comparison that I can give. I bought a 2008 rtx 40th anniversary model 121 inch track of course and totaly stock
