Nytro MPI oil pump failure

I just got a 2009 nytro with the mpi turbo, it runs good but I'm worried about the electric oil pump for the turbo failing. If that pump fails does it pooch the seals and the turbo? and starve the turbo of oil or is it a oil return pump? any info on it would be nice. thanks.

No return oil will be pumped back to the engine, you'll notice blue smoke out of the intake and exhaust of the turbo almost instantly. Pumps are available online.
