- 2009 Nytro MTX
So I am riding a 2009 Nytro MTX 153 - has a 2.5 in track and wondering without turboing the sled what can be done to get a bit higher top end speed. I am well aware that its a MTX.. But I have already started to convert it to a bit more trail friendly - Put RTX A Arms on it and was looking at changing the gear set and cutting the track down. Any ideas would be great. I know the gearing is a 20/40 .. would it be better with a 21/40 or????

i would actually suggest a different track as my brother has run one of those cut down to 1-1/5" and it was the worst track he has ever run. wanted to trench like mad all the time. he has more traction right now with a 151 1-1/4" rip saw than he did with that track. he ran 8" wheels to run the 153 on a 04 war.

So what is your top speed now? Also, be careful running at higher speeds with deep lug tracks.
