Here's s little brain storming idea that has been in my head for a bit now. Through another project, I found that parts from an EPS Grizzly could possibly make a nice swap into a Nytro chassis. The EPS motor assembly is the exact same unit/part number that is used on the Apex and Vector EPS sleds. On the Grizzly it connects directly to the tie rods with a pitman arm, which is quite similar to the Nytro pivot lever to tie rod system.
Nytro Pivot arm.
Grizzly EPS w/ pitman arm.
An additional pitman arm could be mounted to the top motor input shaft, connect the relay rod to that.
Now, this obviously won't be a bolt in, some cutting and brackets fabrication would need to be welded to the subframe….. but let's face it, the subframe needs to come off for proper bracing anyway. I also realize this could be installed high up on the main steering shaft, but that's just too easy, plus weight needs to be kept low.
Other thoughts….
Is there room in the subframe?
The EPS control unit looks just like the snowmobile unit, but has a different part number. It likely has a different assist curve for the Grizzly, and how that will work on a sled is anyone's guess.
These EPS motors and ECUs are plentiful on the used market. The good of that is they relatively inexpensive compared to new parts. The bad is that many ATVs lead a hard life, so the part condition could be suspect.

How will you control it?

The Grizzly ECU will be used, and needs to tapped into the speed sensor and of course switched power. The EPS light could probably be hooked into a simple LED or a Vector gauge if the money is there. Probably should pull some wire diagrams.

Sounds cool. I hope it works. It would be quite the kit.

So how did it turn out? I was having this same thought today

This project never continued past the rough idea stage, and my last Nytro was sold several years back. The ATV parts are fairly abundant these days, so with a little fabrication, the Nytro could gain some serious handling benefits.
