I am trying to dial in my front shocks. They are stock Fox shocks. I have three areas of adjustments, air pressure, rebound and clickers. What I feel my problem is the shocks are not going through their travel. Meaning they hardly compress or they feel too stiff. I understand rebound, I knowt that all to well from the skid, but what do I need to do to make the shocks more compliant, softer? Any help would be much appreciated.

Wish I had some real life experience with these so I could help you out.Talking out my butt here, but did a big search on the Float X shocks, ( just ordered a set for my standard), but consensus on preload is 50-60 psi, which should allow the shock to get further into its stroke. So maybe try dropping the pressure? Compression set to medium seems like a safe setting.

Drop them to 60 psi then play with compression and rebound.

Try less rebound, less rebound will allow the shock to go through it's travel, the air pressure mostly controls ride height and helps hold up the sled in turns. Another thing you could try is filling them with nitrogen, nitrogen doesn't absorb moisture and stays more consistent ( not effected by temperature ) these shocks are a very capable shock no need to go to high on settings. Especially rebound.

To soften mine up I ran 55psi and softened the rebound and compression completely. The shocks worked better, but I hated how they handled during turning and the ride was harsh on the fast speed stutter bumps. I sent my shocks to Carver and had them revalved and turned into evols, "The best money I ever spent".

be sure to check pressure with your front end lifted (pressure off the ski's) while testing with the ski's on the ground the gage will read more pressure.

Dansranger - I am very interested to learn in a little more detail how the added evol canister to the bottom of your front Fox Float X shocks made such an improvement. Did revalving and adding the evol canister result in a 10% or 20% improvement or even better? Were the handling improvements most noticed in cornering stability (reduced tipsiness) or somewhere else? Thanks for your input.

I'm told the extra canister makes the shocks be less aggressive. I had all four shocks revalved and the canisters put on the front shocks for $600. After the work my shocks don't buck me anymore. FYI, I weigh 185 and felt like every shock was bucking me. Now I have the sled dialed in and it handles close to my SRX, but also has the suspension for the bumps.

I ran 75 psi first year I had the sled and it was too stiff for me at 180 lbs. Running 65 psi now and find it way more compliant and still doesn't bottom out on big jumps and drops. may even try 60 psi this year. Forget my comp/ rebound settings though.
