Hello. I just installed a supercharger on an nytro. It's the mpi stage one. We took it out an. After about 20 minutes on the trail the sled shut down. It also had a temp light. Sled wouldn't fire again. The supercharger seems to be seized up. It won't spin freely. The engine turns over but won't fire. I replaced spark plugs. I know I'm getting fuel and spark. I hope the engine is not blown but that is what it looks like. Do these things really blow up that easy. I thought they shut down once they get hot so they don't blow up. I'm gonna do a compression test tomorrow. Any ideas.

Is there any oil in the oil tank for the Supercharger? Did you have any gauges?? how much boost?

Oil tank was extremely low. We checked with a flashlight upon first fire up and made sure it was circulating. No gauges so I do not know how much boost. But from the feel it was about 5 psi. Low boost for sure. Must have been blowing extremely hot air into the motor when that charger was overheating. I feel like such a worm.

I would never install anything boosted unless you have a Temp Gauge, AFR and Boost Gauge... to risky. It could over-boost and you would have no idea... I am on my 3rd Apex Motor because of lack of knowledge. Maybe you will be luck and only have blown a head gasket. You could unhook the fuel control, take the belt off the blower and plug it in stock and see if it will fire.

I hope I am lucky. I already removed belt and plugged the stock wiring and No start. The engine sounds funny when I crank it. Cranks slow. And there is not much compression on the primary clutch. Compared to the other nytro I have. Let's hope for the head gasket.

Yikes... I hope so too.

Leak down test needed. I bet your supercharger seized and sent shavings into motor making valves stick open causing no compression. Take off charge tube and I bet you'll find shavings in it. Just went through all of this. We had a dealer charge the rider $300 for a few hours of labor to just tell him motor is blown. When I received the sled, the motor wasn't blown just had shavings in valves causing them to stick open. Wow another supercharger is toast. They are really stacking up here MPI. Where and when did you purchase this kit? Trying to get a census going here.
