Oil and temp lights?

I was out riding in powder today "lots of throttle" and had my temp light and oil light come on. My question is what are the setting for these guages and the reset time if any? Does the oil light tell level or pressure or both? I got the sled out of the powder and brought it about a 1/4 mile home the oil light went out and still had high temp. Let it cool down and checked all the levels and everything seemed allright. Did this happen because of me tipping the sled so much?

To reset, the sled has to be shut off and turned back on. Many sensors will shut the engine down and will not allow you to restart it until you've turned it off completely with the key.

The oil light does a few things corresponding with error codes in some cases. If the oil light just comes on without an error code, that suggests you have low oil and you should top it up. It's important to note that in cold temperatures, -22 F/-30 C and below, sometimes the low oil light comes on when you first start it for awhile, even though you do have enough oil, and once oil gets moving and warmed up, the light goes out.

If the oil light comes on with error code 30, this tells you that the oil pressure is low, and this will in fact shut the engine down.

There is a third possibility related to a second oil sensor that sits at the bottom of your oil dipstick, hence the plug in on the top of it. If this sensor or float does not detect oil, the sled will not start at all, even if you shut it down and try to restart. Another safety feature, but not likely to kick in unless you've lost most or all of your oil.

What was the temperature you were riding in? In extreme cold, after a high speed throttle run when I stop but let the engine idle, sometimes the low pressure switch shuts the engine down.

I don't get the oil level lights while tipping the sled unless it is left on its side idling for about 15 seconds or more...

Its possible all the boondocking you are doing is setting the low oil light on, but if you're level is where it should be, then that shouldn't happen.

Anyway reset time is a flick of the key, off and on again.

The coolant light could be a number of issues, front rad clogged or the heat exchanger clogged...again, both are more finicky depending on riding temperature.

The oil light seems harder to diagnose since your level is fine.
