Anyone know what size the allen is for the screw under the belly pan to release the oil?

its metric, not sure of the size. But it was very, very tight, make sure you use the correct size.

I stripped my brothers out last year.. Had the dealer replace it.. Cost $2.00 for the bolt.. I was kinda pisssed at myself for doing. Well drop the cover today and found the dealer replace the bolt with a normal bolt with a 14mm head..!!! Talk about a hell of a lot easier...

Thanks... your not kiddin about that being in tight... I got it out with 6 blows on the allen with a hammer....now for the oil filter thats another story.... after trying to get the battery tray out.. what a pain in the . After an hour of fussing with it I found what i was looking for in the owners manual....CHANGE THE FILTER EVERY 12,000 MILES..Well I only have 500 miles..thats all I needed to read. Put her back together and done with that... now about these new rear ohlins... I guess thats for another night when I can see better in the garage :ORC

It's not an allen screw it's a torque's size T-40. Changing it to a bolt head is the best way to go.

Do you pour oil right into the crank case after you change the oil and oil fitler... Send in the manual to put just 2 qts in the tank.... Something does not seem right to me...

Just did a oil change yesterday (2500mi), and followed the book; 2 liters then warm up the engine, add .8 liter -- Was right up the Full line.
The nut is T40 like bountyhunter said.

I was wondering that also..the book said 2 in the tank then warm the .8 ..then why do they have a filler on the engine?

Was in a hurry and never proof read what I wrote.
Sorry about that my brain was faster than my fingers. We have had some luck removing semi stripped heads by using a T-40 Torks on that 6MM pan head screw. They both are six sided but the Torks seems to dig into the stripped section and move it. If not then we use a sharp chisle and hammer, three good raps onto the edge normally does the job. The worst case is having to tack weld a bolt onto it and use a ratchet & socket.
The removable tray is 5MM and some of those are showing up stripped as well, we are using a T-30 Torks on those to help get these out. All of these are somewhat shallow and strip easily, changing them to a TORKS works very well but so would a bolt as long as the head profile matches.
Sorry again for the confusion as I meant well, just goes to show you to proof read what you write first, especially when your in a hurry.
*Forgot to add- DON'T USE CHEAP ENDS [allan keys], buy both of these with the harden ends as they bite much better and the fit is better as well. Those others don't have a tight fit and are too soft that's why they strip in the first place.

Kinsound, not sure of your situation as far as oil changes go, but I believe the manual says first oil change @ 500 miles filter must be changed. After that every 12,000 miles the filter needs to be changed. Not sure if this is your first change but if it is you should do the filter. I personally wouldn't wait 12,000 miles to do it again either. It may be over kill but I do it every time I change the oil.

I just realized you have a 03, so the last post is probably not relevant.
