Still new to yamaha and 4 stroke , I just got an 09 RTX and finally took it for a little test run once I stopped it was idling real rough and I noticed the oil light and engine light were on , played with throttle a bit and they went out and was running great again . When I pulled back in the garage I checked the oil and it was way over the H mark.
Will to much oil cause this ? the previous owner said he just changed the oil at the end of last season.Should I change again and start from scratch or just drain some .
Any thought?

Get a turkey baster and a small piece of hose to fit it and suck some out form the oil tank until you are just below the H mark. Much easier then pulling the belly pan and trying to drain some that way. If the oil looks like it wasn't changed , then I would change the oil and know for yourself that you have the right oil in there and the right amount.

Make sure you are checking it properly. You "do not" screw the dipstick in. You mearly rest it on the top of the hole.

No Roll over value that I know of. I did not notice a code .Like I said the engine stuttered a cpl times than lights went out, it happened fast .The sled does have Hauck Fuel Accelerator.
