Oil Filter every 12000 miles?

I asked my dealer the same question and he said it was because of it barely being used. Somewhere right after clutch engagement the filter gets by-passed because of flow restrictions.
.

Well even if that is true, and the filter bypasses. The oil will still be carrying the little bits around until the filter is back online. At that time it will remove them so all the little bits wind up in the filter no matter what.

Saying a filter is hardly used make no sense! Same amount will be filtered out either way.

Somehow I find the filter bypass thing a little hard to believe! First time I heard of a filter being bypassed for flow.

My tow Vehicle Manufacturer recommends every 12,000 miles and it operates in a dirtier enviornment than my sled.

Yep and so does mine! Once a year or whenever the OLM comes on. I can go as far as 15,000 kms before the OLM comes on. I change the oil and filter every year in my truck and car just like my sled and motorcycle.
