This is for a 2011 Vector. There was a post before on this that listed other brand oil filters that would work on these vectors but they don't.
This is the list:
Supertech ST6607 Right Dia. but to long
Yamaha 5GH-13440-00 Right Dia. but to long
K & N KN303 Right Dia. but to long
AC Delco PF1237 Right Dia. but to long
Hastings LF113 Right Dia. but to long
Wix 51358 Right Dia. but to long
Purolator ML16819 Right Dia. but to long
Does anyone have any other information on which oil filters will fit.
The Dia. of yamaha filters are 3 3/4in
The length is about 2in

17.00 bucks for a 10,000 dollar motor. Hmmmmm, seems like a nice trade off to me.

Napa Gold filters are made by Wix and are much cheaper than oem. There are other options out there.

$17 filter for every 20000 km is fine with me.

Oem Yamaha filters at my dealer are like $19. I can get a Napa Gold for $12, which is a better filter. Mobil 1 filters are even better and are $14 at Autozone.
The savy consumer within me tells me to not by the oem Yamaha filter. Easy choice.
Just paid 8.50 a piece at south seattle sports plaza for
5 yamaha filters.

yamaha filter at my dealer for my wr450f (worlds smallest oil filter) is $21. Got a k&n at a local cycle parts store for $7 with 0 tax. you can buy bulk filters on ebay for cheap alot of times.

My manual only calls for a filter change every 25,000km. I'm guessing I'll still have the same filter in it when I'm done with the sled for good.

To each their own but imo if you are not changing your filter everytime you are changing your oil, then whats the purpose of changing the oil?
I get it that the filter doesn't hold a lot of oil but have you ever noticed how much more oil comes out of the engine when you remove the filter??
Also, if you have the money and don't mind wasting it then carry on, but personally I'll continue to purchase Hi-Flo or Wix filters which are half the price of Yamaha filters and are probably the same filter anyways as the last time I checked, Yamaha was not in the oil and filter business?
(Been told by more than one reliable source that Hi-Flo makes filters for a host of manu's, including Yamaha)
