Are you sure the KN-147 as I went to the KN site and they don't list a filter for the RX1.

Well, I guess I won't be using the Yamaha filter either. Reports say its just like a Fram, junk.

i use wix on my rx1 and nascar uses them so they must be pretty good..... the part# for the wix filter is 51358 and can be picked up at any parts store that sells wix filters. (oh ya what ever you do dont use fram they are junk trust me i work for a parts store and that is the worst filter you could use !)

sleddersteve it is not a 51365 for wix ....

oh and if any one has napa close by wix makes there oil filters so they will be the same except for the napa logo ... it is a napa 1358 ( number is even the same minus the 5 ... )

RX1-M, you are correct, Napa and Wix are the same and they are exellent filters.

I am finding that the filter numbers posted on here do not check out. I will research it and post my results later today.

Here is what I found:

The following were found by direct ref to the Yamaha number:

K&N KN303
Wix 51358
Purolator ML16819

The following were found by cross reference:

Hastings LF113
AC Delco PF1237
Purolator ML16817,L14612

The Yamaha part number is: 5GH-13440-00

I also found that the following are highly rated:
K&N
AC Delco
Hastings

Yamaha filter was rated with Fram-not recomended.

K7N website does not show a KN303 as a part number. I did the search.

Looking at the reasons that guy gave to not recommend the OEM Yamaha filter is Bull. Internally it appears to be one of the best filters because of the thick media they use. The internal paper end caps (his reason for not recommending) will not pose any problems. On that note, I still use amsoil filters
