Hi,

I want to install a oil pressure meter on one of my Nytros, and I need to know what kind of threads the "adapter" that is installed in the block is?

Also, what thread size/type is the pressure sensor itself?

Thanks

It is actually a British Pipe Thread. Very close to NPT but not identical.

What is the easiest way to hook up a oil pressure meter?

Can I install one of those "sandwich" type adapters between the block and the oil filter? In that case, which size threads is the oil filter?

Its on my mcx turbo nytro. Seems like I'll get too little space to fit the sender if installed "after the turbo oil hose/oil pressure switch.

I'd get a British pipe thread T with an adapter to hook up a 1/8 npt pressure sensor and put the original pressure switch on the other end of the T. I can't imagine there's that much room to add a sandwich adaper to the filter.

Maybe something like this http://www.fastfittings.com/product/28947
Then install a BPT to NPT adapter off of one of the female ends for your oil pressure gauge line.

A friend of mine machined a custom adapter for me, with 1/8 BPT inlet, and two 1/8 NPT outlets. I think it should work.
I'll try installing it next week.

Thanks for your replies ;)!

Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't you need a Tee that has one BPT male to screw into the engine, one BPT female to screw in the original pressure switch and one NPT female to screw in the gauge sensor?

You are correct. I'll use this adapter to verify that its actually possible to fit it there, and have him make me a new one with the correct threads.

Definitely not 1/8" NPT. They are 1/8" BSPT, which stands for British Standard Pipe Taper. If you try and use an NPT fitting you will damage the block because the pitch differs.
