I would still be concerned about it. I dont see how it can fill up the engine unless you have a breather connected wrong or something. Also when its on its side it will leak out oil everywhere, hence why there are people offering roll over kits with a valve to keep the oil from escaping the breather hose.
I dont get it physics says its impossible to fill the engine that is the same height as the oil tank through the bottom hose.
When you tipped it up on its side did you have a dealer look at it or have to mess with anything afterwards? Seems like that is the culprit.
