- Anyone ever have this before?
- I took the sled in for a pre-season check up and also asked them to look at a small oil drip that appeared over the summer while she was on the trailer.
- I had my drive chain replaced late last year, and thought that it might be residual oil, but the dealer tells me that I have a hairline crack in the oil tank.
- Any ideas on what woulda caused this?

I'm think it comes from the hitting bumps over and over that it just weakens it.

Put a rubber washer in between the lower tank tab/mount and the bracket with the stud. Vibration causes the cracking issue.

Both my friends 2006 Apex and attack had the same problem. Was this only with the 2006's ?

Would some J/B Weld or something similar not work for repairing this?
Thinking it might save you some money John?
I have a putty you mix together, just kneed it until consistantly grey and apply.
It hardens like steel and can be drilled, tapped and grinded, it works great.
I did my rivets on my old boat and they never moved or leaked anymore water after I did this, lasted for 6 years when I sold my boat and they are probably still on there?
let me know if your interested.

- Yeah, I know JB Weld Dale.
- Too late though...I ordered a new tank on Friday.
- Thanks for the help!
- I'll be at work tomorrow riding the "double bubble" "gravy train" for 10hrs, so that should cover it!

Where on the tanks do the cracks develop?
