I did a track swap on my LTX and an oil change too. Curiosity got the better of me and I just had to split the oil tank off the chain case cover. I figured might as well see what was in there right? Just a baffle, and no sediment or shavings.
When I split it there was a rubbery stretchy black gasket that looked just like yamabond 5. So that's what I used to put it back together. But it is leaking slowly. So should I try something else or just be more careful? Any suggestions?

I put a backcountry x 1.75 on it. Like the track and not a bad job other than the oil tank. I suppose the Permatex Ultra Black should fill voids better. The surfaces were not machined like the Yamabond is made for.

Wow, I put a 1.6 lug track on and that's getting pretty close to hitting. Did you change the holes or leave them stock?

I only put about 50 miles on it, but no rubbing so far. I left it in the stock mount positions. I started fairly tight tension wise, but it loosened right up. I checked it out pretty well beforehand and left the tunnel protectors in. My only worry is hard braking or ballooning at top end rubbing by the front mount.

Old Dog did you notice if the oil line from the tank to the engine had a screen ? Like some other Yamaha 4 strokes.
Yes it does have a screen.

Yamabond 6b, yeah ain't got none of that. Will have to look for one or the other. There is a screen in there, part of the reason I cracked it open to check it and look for any debris. It is more coarse and larger than the ones on the Nytro and previous sleds, but should do the job. Seeing as I need to open it back up maybe I could take a picture if you're curious too.
