Still don't get how yamaha figures this? I have reverse and fill it with the recommend 8.5oz per shop manual, 8.5 oz's as marked on clutch cover(by yamaha) and it will show being over filled on the dipstick marked REVERSE when 8.5 oz's is used. But in the small manual that comes with the sled it shows the case being filled to two diff marks ...one level for STANDARD one for REVERSE and still says add 8.5 oz's.To fill to the reverse level would take less. Now I know the case volumes are diff depending on reverse or no reverse but the dipstick is off some .
The shop manual even said the dipstick has a magnet on it ...I don't think this is true either. I know this has been talked about before but thought someone could shed some new light on it and let me know what levels they have run with no problems with reverse.

Have always used 8 oz full syn.(7--- 4 strokes with reverse & without a problem)

Thanks , this good to know. 8 oz it is, just want yo be sure.

8 oz's regardless where it ends up on the dip-stick?

Same amount for reverse or no reverse?

Magnet is on the drain plug... and yes 8.5oz with rev or without...

Thanks, guess I had better add a bit more, I was trying to get it the reverse marks on the dipstick, not much room for error there!

Any problems with it trying to spew out adding that much?
