put a muff pot or hot dogger on the exhaust &

Isn't that the trifecta for a yamaha sled? Under tunnel dump, light weight, and HOT DOGGER ATTACHMENT! (yes I am yelling!)... It is possible..... ;)!

did you use the stock header with your tunnel dump any chance of a close up of the conection from silancer to header? also what is the slip-on off of?
looks great

Ill fill in for Ski. Yes the stock header was used, and the muffler (slip on) came from Lincoln county customs? which used to be TJ's . We tweaked the muffler and header to sit under the top of the tunnel and still had almost 3" of clearance to the track at the upper wheel point. As soon as he gets back from fishing im sure he will post a pic for ya.

3" should be plenty of room. I am curious to see how this looks after a couple hundred miles of use. Also, do you think the clearance would change at all with, say, a Timbersled skid? I've got plans for mine in the future ($$), but don't want to make mods that can't work together.

It looks like skids that use the stock mounting locations should all be fine. Ones that mount higher in the tunnel, like the expert and the ez-ryde might have more clearance issues. This is just from looking at pictures on the web though...

Yeah, I agree with you on that Ruffy. I guess after reading my post, it wasn't clear, but you answered what I wanted to ask. :)

Can't wait to be at the point I can sink some money into my Nytro!!!

Nice sled, 'Ski!!! Can't wait for some ride reports with the changes you've done!

got my seat from murray at mountain mod. IT IS AWESOME!!!

finally a seat on the nytro WITH STORAGE!!! the storage area is approx 15x10 and from the top of the seat to the floor of the tunnel tall.

it is light (didnt weigh it). it is a little taller than the stock seat for easy transition from seated to standing. the seat top material is grippy yet smooth. has tabs for under the fuel tank like the stocker, with mount bolt tabs at the rear for ease of securing (no flaps, snaps, or velcro holding it to your sled). the bottom base is an actual molded plastic unit, not just carved up foam. fits the 10.4 gallon trail tank very well. it is a quality piece for sure. it even hangs over the edge of the rounded tunnel top area like the stocker. i have had both a boss seat and the mountain mod now, i can say this is a better quality unit that a boss (in my opinion). fit, finish and attention to detail are great.

i get nothing from murray for this, i am just plugging this part as am hard to impress, and i am impressed. and the service from murray was top notch. he has been answering my stupid questions since june on this. he was very pacient with me. and this was well worth the wait.

i still need to farm out the top tunnel block off plate but that is trivial at this point, it is just a 28" long 15" wide flat plate of aluminum to cover the hole from the stock exhaust area.

so with no further adoo.... viola the under tunnel exhaust seat. ski

house - garage

From previous post:
"Your garage decor proves that you have a sickness - nicer than my house"

I thought the sled was in your HOUSE, fooled me. I was going to say, you're the man, a sled in the house. It doesn't get any better than that.

Regarding your front shocks: I was amazed how well the Yam GYTR clickers work. I've recently run Fox Floats on Apex LE, Cat M LE and thought they were unmatched. My MCX Nytro has the GYTR and they really work great. In May rode with Allen from Timbersled and his bro has really trick Nytro with Fox Floats up front. We switched on trashed out trail and I couldn't wait to get back on my GYTR shocks. He commented same thing, he couldn't believe the difference and how much better mine sucked up the trail junk - way better.
We didn't switch in the pow to compare.

Anybody know how much Floats weigh vs GYTRs?

What springs are you considering? I have set of Tison titanium front shock springs, new , never mounted. 140 lb rate. Dual rate. 80% of shock is Ti 140 lb with secondary stiffer (dual rate) shortl but stiffer spring.
I'm not sure if I'll be using on next year's sled?? What are you looking for?

Your sled is really shaping up nicely.
YamaBob LOL

Floats are 5.90 lbs for a pair (2), 2.95 lbs each.
Stockers are 8.12 lbs for a pair (2), 4.06 lbs each.

Saving 2.22 lbs total over stock shocks.

Using a digital fish scale.

I was honestly expecting quite a bit more in weight loss.
