The frog skin around the pipe will end up getting ruined after you pull the hood the first time.. Just cut the black stock vent and call it good.I was talking about cutting out the rest of the black plastic vent I cut to pass intake threw and putting Frog skin in the opening around the pipe in the vent opening
And keep an eye on the filter sock. If you leave it like that, down low, the side panel may rub a hole in it.

Good point!!! I wanted to keep it down low but if I see any premature tears I'll install the longer pipe..The frog skin around the pipe will end up getting ruined after you pull the hood the first time.. Just cut the black stock vent and call it good.

Thanks you for the heads up

On the fence about an MPI outside cold air pick up. When you do finally get the guts to cut your hood, does it really make a lot of air cleaner noise? I remember the old RX1's with air cleaners real well. Thanks, guys.

Yeah it makes little noise but it also gives you a pretty big grin also. It's worth it

Did you have to add any extra piping to do this? Will this affect AFR #

Did not affect the AFR at all but it did lower the temperatures of the intake a lot. No extra piping was needed. I just turned the elbow to point up instead of back.
It also increased my top speed as well. The colder it is, the faster I go.
