i have a 2010 MTX , thinking about swapping out the head lights for some that are brighter , would sooner stay away from the plug and play hid packages

anyone running other brands of lights that are way brighter , seen lots of brands in the auto stores ,

also what should i worry about for wattage so i don't do harm or overload the stator , i want to be on the safe size or lower load size

Why don't you want the HID's? Brightest lights out there imo.. and they don't draw much at all.

yes , i'd like to save some money , them hid's very costly imho and seems allot of guys have trouble getting them to work both high and low and then from the reading i'v been doing they don't even line up most times , low can be perfect then your high is at tree tops , or the other way around

i'd just like to find another set that replace the stock ones and are brighter , ones that don't draw to much power and maybe ones that guys seem to like

i don't do allot of night riding , if i did i would most likely try them hid's , so for me just a good replacement pair is all i'm looking for

i'm sure some guys must be using aftermarket ones , looking for brand names and which ones people seem to like

WELL I RUN HIDS. I HAVE THE DDMTUNING HID KIT. THE 55 WATT KIT RUNS ABOUT 70 BUCKS. I HAVE HAD ZERO PROBLEMS WITH THEM. I RUN THEM IN MY SLED, 2 TRUCKS, AND THE CAR. ALL HAVE BEEN TROUBLE FREE. THEY ARE 10 TIME BRIGHTER AND DRAW HALF THE AMPS THAN THE STOCK HEADLIGHTS. I HAVE NO PROBLEMS WITH AIMING THEM. HIGH AND LOW HAVE NO PROBLEMS SWITCHING BETWEEN THE TWO. VERY ROCK SOILD KIT AND THE BALLEST ARE WATERPROOF AND CARY A LIFE TIME WARRANTY. KIT COMES WITH EVERY THING YOU NEED. JUST PLUG AND PLAY. THE ONLY WAY TO GET BRIGHTER HALOGEN BULBS IS TO GO TO HIGHER WATTAGE.

Check out bulbs from PIAA. Just about as good as HID's. I've run them for years and like them. They just plug in like standard bulbs. Some of the PIAA's have Xenon enclosed in the bulbs with the halogen. I currently run them in my MTX. I have HID's in my Attak and they are cool but not hassle free.

thats a very good price , you have any issues at all doing the install , also what does one need to order , the whole kit with everything you see , did you have any troubles getting them to fit into the holders on your MTX

You just need to order the H4 hi/low Not the H4 low. I recommend the 55 watt and the 12000K color. The 6000k is to white and will blind you in the snow. All I had to do was cut a little bit off the rubber boot that goes around the bulb to fit the HIDs. And zip tie the ballasts and relay to the plastic shroud on the radiator. The kits are desinged for cars so you will have to coil up the extra wire. Do not need to order the hid harness, Error elemnator, Adaptor cable, or mounting kit.

A pair of Rigid Industries D2 LED lights on the front bumper or a custom handlebar mount? I'm building a pair of LED auxiliary lights for my Phazer and plan on trying them both on the front bumper area and on the handle bars. I think they will add a bit of light also, ~4000 lumen @ 40watts for the pair, the stocker is only ~3200lumen @ 120watts. I don't see the point of putting HID bulbs in the stock headlight and putting MORE light where it doesn't belong with the wonderful high/low spread the Nytro/Phazer assembly has. Also don't have to worry about blinding on coming sleds with improper focusing on low, and Owls at the tops of trees on high. Auxiliary lights one a separate switch is the way to go IMO.

I am currently testing a pair of h4 led bulbs i got on ebay.

Its not very much light, but its enough for people to see you..

I dont ride much in the dark, and found out it was a good replacement for the hid's I had before. Also they are pretty much plug n play so i got rid of the hid wiring harness which I did not like at all.

They cost about 5 dollars each, so it might be worth checking out ;)!
