Overheating MP

Could it be that your husband was pushing his sled alot harder than you? Like mooseman said, the heat exchanger cools it when riding. In my experience there's not much cooling to be had riding on ice. Unless your running scratchers.

We were riding side by side and had received rain the night before that froze on what snow we had so the conditions were not great. I might have been beside the hard trail and he might have been directly on the hard trail??? Our camp is 5 miles up the lake (the lake is our only option), we have to travel the lake then on an icy road for half a mile to go from our lake to another lake below us (there is a dam with open water that we have to avoid) so we follow shore away from any open water. The shoreline was in the shade and very crusty and once we hit the lake where conditions were safe is where his sled overheated.

This weekend was a whole different story. We received 4 inches of snow - yay! The fan was checked and was okay, added Water Wetter and decided to change the rad cap in case it was weak and we had zero issues. He even towed a groomer that we use to pack down the yard at camp and all was fine. Looks like our issue might have been "conditions" related only and we will invest in scratchers and pray for snow for next year. Thanks for your help. Oh and for once we were happy to have big MP "boogers" !!!!

And gauges are still not a bad idea :)
