I am looking for some over sized small wheels to help with hyfax wear and better roll. Anyone have some to sell? or were did you get yours? Thinking of the 6 small ones or atleast the front 2 or 4 ?
I know many have done this. Thanks Blue ;)! ;)! :sled1: :sled1:

I'm running 135mm ski-doo wheels on mine. I don't have the part number but I believe they were standard issue for most of their line up in the pre-Rev era? Helped with slide wear, I didn't have any issues with the wheels falling apart. I did have to machine off 60 thousandths off the mounts because the wheels have a wider bearing. You can get the same results with Polaris 135mm wheels too. My dad has been running those without any issues.

Excell Motorsports sells the "X-wheel" which is a 135mm wheel but it has the slimmer stock bearing so that no machining is required. I think a lot of guys are going this route.

X2 on the Excell X-wheel. Got them on my 2006 Apex for two seasons. They work great. Check out the web sight that MARQ posted.

Buy the pioneer wheel lowering kit and run the stock Yamaha wheels. If you happen to need a wheel while touring you are more likley to find a stock size wheel intead of a excell x wheel.

I did the Doo/Poo combo. Sliders have over 4000 miles.
BRP parts for 2 bolt mounts:
-503 190 389 (2 bolt mounts,need qty 6)
-207 088 544 (8mm x 85mm long bolts for INNER idlers only(need qty 2) outers you will use stock bolts)
-207 182 544 (8mm x 25mm short bolts for bottom of mounts,need at all locations,need qty 6)
-233 281 414 (8mm nylock nuts for all bolts,need qty 8 )
-503 183 100 (large washers for against wheels,needed at inners only,need qty2)

Polaris 135mm wheel with the 6205 bearing. Sorry, don't have the part # of the wheels.

I like this setup better as it has two bolts to distribute the weight on the rail.

Thanks guys, I like the Bolt on feature of the "X" wheel. looks similar to stock too. Only down side is sold out till fall 2013.
;)! :rocks:

x2 cheaper than buying 6 new wheels and adds extra support to the rails for the extra stress on the rails.

I put the Pioneer kit on and slider wear went from 300km to 2000km and counting. The mounts do add strength with additional screws as mentioned.

For what it's worth: I cracked a rail running stock wheels with stock mounts. I've cracked zero rails and 2 front arms after switching to Ski-doo/Kimpex wheels and stock mounts.

Now because I'm saying something, I'll go out and break a rail tomorrow

The pioneer kit lookes godd but dont the oem idler wheels have non repalce bearings? Im in the same boat looking to replace but might go excell x wheels since they have replaceable bearings.

I did the ski doo wheels and two bolt mounts that Rockerdan has a thread on. I used the Kimpex wheels with the replaceable bearings because they were cheaper. I felt that going with a slightly bigger wheel that I should use the two bolt mounts to try and eliminate any chance of cracking the rail. If I were to do it over, I would use the Pioneer kit and use Yamaha stock wheels with replaceable bearings. Nothing wrong with the way that I did, but that would be my route to go if I would do it again.
