p1338 engine code safe to run?

x3 Xtx is a great sled. Should be even better this year with a turbo.

viiper - I'm not trying to see how many likes I can get on this post....but can tell you that everyone that was buying a Viper was curious to see if the Arctic Cat/Yamaha combo would work. I was worried too at first, but since test riding the protypes and now owning one which I call the best sled I've ever owned.....I don't think you will be disappointed. I do 60% boondocking and 40% trail now and can tell you I only had 1 time where the engine oil went into the intake from having it upside down. Otherwise I have had my Viper every which way from on it's side to flagpoling (straight up and down) with 0 problems. You will love the XTX 141 inch!
thanks for the reply NOS, I really appreciate the input. I ride about 70% boon docking and 30% trail. Absolutely can not wait to put this viper on snow this winter. Dealer called today and I'm scheduled to pick it up Sept 6th. All recalls complete, low sport windshield installed, factory 8"riser, hand guards, and I have an OSP can awaiting install @ our shop. Excited to see the wealth of info that will be posted about our new machines on this site throughout this season

viiper - You are very welcome :)

There is a ton of info that members have posted about their Vipers! Pictures, how-to's and performance results can be found by just searching through the Viper section. How much you weigh viiper? Reason I ask is there are setups and reviews from other members who have posted their suspension setups on TY and you would have your sled perform pretty close to perfect by just reading some threads on how they ride and setup their sled. I have mine posted and love the way mine handles the off-trail and rails in the corners. Both Shagman and myself took lots of hours to figure out some cool setups between each of our sleds cause we weigh about the same and have the exact same sled :) Its great riding with someone that when you make a change, you can see the difference between sleds....good or bad.

Just a tip....if you are putting the OSP can on your sled, are you doing anything to the clutching? You want to be right about 8,900-9,000 but want to stay away from the rev limiter at 9,100-9,150.

Ask away on the forums, everyone is real helpful here and will answer any ?'s you have

Nos-pro, I bounce around between 210-220. I've never weighed myself with my gear on, but I would assume 230-235ish all suited up. If you have any suspension suggestions for me, I'm all ears! I don't have anything planned for clutching yet. I think I'm just going to get it here, bolt on some of the small stuff like the can and what not, wait for snow and see where I am at. Get a good feel for it on break in and decided what I want out of the clutches, if anything, and go from there. I see people complaining quite a bit both here and over at HCS about how the viper loses it's legs on the top end. I don't have a worry in the world about this, my riding style calls for torque down low all the time, the ability to hold momentum and engine torque side hilling, and the option to lift the skis at the first crack of the throttle. I should be well suited for the vipers power curve. From what I read, it should be right at home with my riding style. Nos-pro, I believe you and I could have some great conversations about this sled and setup. This season should be awesome for sharing all kinds of info. Is it snowing yet?.??????

That is where I am right now in weight, 216 to be exact and you are correct about the viper and it's loss on top end. It took sometime and a lot wrenching, but with TY members help YamahaTim, Stingray, Cannondale, Pro116, Mr Sled, Shagman (my wingman), TD Max, Studroes, Buster696 and a whole bunch more I know I am forgetting...apologize for that... my sled was hitting 103-105mph pretty much regularly on the trail and now on asphalt I am at a best of 109.05 with stock gearing, MBRP can, minor clutching and an airbox mod :)

The best part is I gained a huge amount in the 1/8 mile so trail riding should be just like you said, torque all the way on the bottom end. Also, fuel mileage increased! Win Win situation right there!

I will find my setup thread and copy it here. It should have my clutching info and suspension setup.
