Evening everyone,

I have my PCV on order (back ordered until the 20th) I am currently getting ready to install my mod parts next week (Exhaust and clutch kit)

I have looked at the install instructions on the PCV but I am a bit lost on the stock O2 sensor. Is it used still? Or does it get routed back to the PCV unit?

Thanks in advance,

Chris

Stock O2 is not connected to the PCV. PCV is only capable of altering the fuel map unless you add a WB-2 or Auto tune module. In that case you would need to add a bung to the exhaust to accommodate the new "Wide Band" O2 sensor and a gauge to display the AFR.

Yes the Auto tune will be installed next. So the ECU is no longer receiving O2 sensor data then? So I should just pull the sensor out and put a plug in the location?

Leave the stock sensor alone, still being used.

Are you sure about that because it clearly gets disconnected in my pcv instructions. Maybe not using the O2 is only with the pti versions

?? I'm running the PTI version and it's still in play on my sled?

I'm not running a wide band O2 so I guess that's the difference, I stand corrected..Thanks

I haven't installed mine yet so I may have it wrong. I only skimmed through the instructions

In the parts list there is something called an O2 optimizer, not sure if that plugs into the ecu instead of the actual O2 sensor, guess I will figure it out when it gets here

That's what it looked like to me. The optimizer is plugged in and O2 disconnected

Optimizer I figure is just a resistor or something to fool the factory ECU into thinking all is well

Staggs is correct. Stock O2 sensor is not used. Remove it and install a plug. I used a allen bolt 12mm not sure pitch but its fine thread and can be found at a good hardware store. If you leave the stock one in as a plug it will be ruined pretty quick since the heater circuit isnt working when its not plugged in. A dummy plug with a resistor in it is put in place where stock sensor plugs in.

Had to go check, Stock o2 is still used with my hurricane setup. No optimizer. Not sure why PC would want you to defeat the closed loop o2 trim?

Because it is not a wide and sensor so it is very limited in value and with a good tune is not needed.

Yup, understand it can't act like a wideband sensor but still not understanding the need to defeat it. Maybe Dave from Hurricane will see this and explain his thoughts for leaving it in?
