Performance Differences Between RX-1 and Warrior?

i ran my 04 warrior limited edition on the lake last week,,,,,,,,,,topped out at 129mph.....the rx1"s were not catching me......this is stock sled with 900 miles.......wait to next year.......

Raced a guy with an 04 warrior (stock 600miles) against my 04 warrior with 1000 miles. Mine was 7 sled lengths ahead over 3/4 mile with all mid-range pull. That guy raced his from the start (hard) while I took my break-in by the book. As for 121 vs 136: go with the added length. Can't imagine trying to get traction with only a 121 under the 4cly. As for handling, I only notice the added length on crusty, hard snow where its a little harder/slower on initial turn in.

In my opinion I feel that the Warrior is a better all round sled. I have owned both, '03 RX1 and '04 Warrior LE, and put over 2500miles on each one so I feel that is enough to make an opinion based on experience. The Warrior has a much better ride, better flotation and deeper snow capabilities. The '03 RX1 was marginally better in tight trails but with a good set up the Warrior can be at least as good. Overall comfort for long trips also goes to the Warrior. On the RX1 I had all the updates done, sway bar, links and the Warrior gear. I felt that it was set up well but I must give the nod to the Warrior. If I had the oppurtunity to buy a new '06 I would strii choose the Attak. I feel that with the mono skid and new front end geometry it will still be superior to the Apex line.

I have top-ended ALOT of RX-1's with my warrior, some of them didnt even have reverse (which is claimed to take 3-4 mph off top end). You wont notice any added push in the corner, If the rider has the ability a 136 can run right with a an equally set-up 121. The added tracion and ride quailty is worth it. My last 3 trail sleds have been 136'ers. ===SRXSRULE===

"Most of the time, the Warrior will be in the front and you'll need allot of room to catch, and pass it."

How much room are you talking about? I have raced several 121's for 4-5 miles WOT across a lake and they didnt pass me. Personally I think it all comes down to one thing.. and that is how the sled was broke-in. Some guys have thousands of miles on there sled and it still wont get over 10,000 RPM. On good hardpack I can get 10,600 with stock clutching and gearing. ===SRXSRULE===

So what would you say you did differently to break in your sled?

I broke it in very hard, very early. Go check out some 4-stroke bike engine builders and see how they want you to break in a motor. The ideal way is on a road corse style race track and the first 20 miles is the window of tiem to get the rings seated. I did some fast trail riding with some high speed rail grade mixed in. I had it turning 10,200 in the first 25 miles. Many people will disagree.....this is just my opinion. ===SRXSRULE===

It has been mentioned that the 136 sleds are more stable. My 121 will fishtale in the straights in certain snow conditions. The 136 won't?

Correct. I remember one time out with my buds complaining about there sleds fishtailing and I spoke up and said what fishtailing?? We swapped sleds and they couldn't believe how stable my Warrior was. They had more studs than me too :ORC
