So I'm in a bit of a pickle. I'm on our 3-day snowmobiling trip in Virginia, MN and my snowmobile seems to be having about 3 inches of clearance in the front. The shocks are very compressed but it doesn't make sense because I'm pretty sure I pumped em up with 100PSI. But it definitely doesn't look like it! Because sometimes when I'm unscrewing my pump some air will escape. So maybe some got out? Also, I have the skid plate on, and would it be possible that a ton of ice would build up in there and weigh it down that much? Or just a ton of build up in general in the sled? And if it is the shocks, I do not have my pump with me so is there anyway I could pump them back up? Please help guys! Its urgent!

Look around for sleds with Floats on them, then ask for their pump. Any dealers around? I gave a dealer a hundred dollar bill as collateral to use his snap ring pliers. Half hour later, i got it fixed and my money back. Tourist towns will try to help you. Good luck.

So you think that it's the shocks just low on air? You don't think the sled is just loaded down?

Can you rock it side to side and feel one side softer? I guess i'd doubt both would start leaking? So far, i've heard some bad things on here about skid plates, how hard is it to take off?

Not hard at all. I will take it off. And if not it appears there is a dealer not far from here. "Five Seasons Sports Center" and maybe they would have a pump. If the skid plate isn't the problem I will have to pump it up. I don't think they would leak after 700 miles of riding.

I dont think it would be the shocks if they are both down low chances are slim. pull off the plate or try to find a place to thaw out the sled.

i had one leak down and it took them both down lower - go to five seasons in the morning and have them look at it - they are capable. the sway bar will drag the other side down if you have a leaker.

I will maybe go to a self-wash car wash and spray it off to melt the snow off possibly. And if that doesn't do anything then to Five Seasons I will go.

I live in Eveleth if need to use a float pump. I can see 5 seasons through the woods from my place. I get home from work at 7:30am, I'll PM you my number if interested, I'm just off the trail.Phazer500 said:I will maybe go to a self-wash car wash and spray it off to melt the snow off possibly. The air has to have leaked out of your floats.Or they froze internally. Most common source of air leak on floats is the schrader valve itself.Just pump them up and check valve with a little spit.If it is leaking remove the core and try to clean the core seat.If shocks are froze they need a refresh.

I really hope they aren't leaking. They only have 700 miles on them. What could have happened to make them leak?

You may have already checked this, but did you pump them up with the skiis off the ground? Maybe you arent getting a true reading if you took the pressure with the skiis on the ground. Just a thought.
