Now that I have a few miles on phazer xtx, biggest problem is headlight, which everybody seems to know. After a lot of reading seems like the yamaheater hid is the way to go. Not sure what color I should go with, I mostly ditch bang, usually in front or alone, very little woods or lake. Any advice? Also had my first steering issue the other night when snow was still a slushy mess from rain and too warm. Sled has tuners no studs

I prefer the 5000k

I think there are LED bulbs now offered with the same base. Might be worth checking that out also.

When I bought HIDs from Rock, he was super helpful with recommendations. I can't remember what color I went with but he talked me through that. There are colors that go through falling snow better than others. His lights are incredible.

100%, I had one of the first year spring order Phazer's and he was as excited as I was to test them out. Best money spent. He knows exactly the temp to use to cut through the snow dust.

On his page, he will recommend 4300k, "4300K Super White with a hint of Blue - Pierces Snowdust the best."

i have used his led kit on my 11 apex and motorcycle. i prefer the blue tint as it doesn't reflect back when riding while it is snowing as badly as white.

LEDs are the way to go. HIDs are more failure prone, have ballasts and have that mechanical part that moves the bulb between low and high beam. Bought some 5k LEDs for my Venture GT years ago and they've been good. HIDs are so 2000's ;)

I will concede that LED probably have a come a long ways but IMO, nothing pierces the snow dust like HIDs. I will also concede that I have had to replace a ballast (was one of Rock's early ones; purple vs black) as well as a connector but that is where Rock's support comes into play and he always comes thru and just sells me what I need vs the whole kit. Haven't a lick of issue since replacing that one ballast (upgraded both to black); knock on wood.
