Just bought this to add to my Yamaha fleet and it idles around 2800 rpm. After riding it will be about 3200 and then drop to around 2800 in a few seconds. Idle speed adjusting screw does not seem to do anything. I took it apart down to the throttle bodies and they were not very tight to the engine and the clamps are fully cranked down. So I'm thinking I can remove or grind down the spacers so they will tighten a little further.
I'll poke around for a vacuum leak while I have it apart. Does anyone else have any ideas what to look at before I put it back together?
Just to follow up. I removed the spacers for the clamps on the cylinder side of the bolts so they tightened down better. Still idled high so I took out the idle adjustment mechanism (a plastic plunger with a spring behind it) and cleaned it out in there with carb cleaner. Eventually the idle came down and I could get it set at 1800 rpm.
So a fun exercise taking this sled apart - what a packaging wonder!! Looking forward to getting it out on the trails.
