I just bought a 2007 phazer fx for my son to ride this year
and I have a couple of questions, may be someone can help.
(1)- has anyone heard or a cold start recall and what is it?
dealer said they would do it at no charge.
not sure if I should fix whats not broke.
(2) Are the wind deflectors on the gt worth putting on the fx
for added wind protection?
(3)- This sled has a after market throttle block, at full throttle
it is only half way to the bar, throttle bodies are open all the way.
is there any fix other than going back to the o.e.m. block?
Any help will be apprecated. thanks

cold start kit helps it start when under like 10F. its a few diffenrt parts i think cam( not sure) and a remap of the EFI system that adds more fuel at start up.
more wind protection is always a plus if u can live with the looks. i rather suffer a little the put a huge windshield on. lol. the wind deflectors dont look bad and was thinking of getting them my self. i made the sacrifce of putting my stock windshield back on cause it wasnt bad riding in the 20s but a few nights it droped under 0 last year and after the first ride like that it went back on. i didnt care how much i hated it. im gonna make the best of it.
throtel im not sure i would just go back to oem if i was u. the OEM throtel body has the TORS sensor in it which is a big safety feature. it cuts spark when the throtel boddies and throtel lever dont match up. so if ur throtel gets stuck when u let off the lever the sled dies insted of taking off with u on it into a tree

should I have that recall done?
it starts and runs fine but it hasnt been below 10 deg yet.
can iI get just the block or does it come as a whole
assembly? I assume it is going to be pricey.

its a free update, i would do it. if the throttle works i would leave that also. I dont have a windshield on my phazer but than again i havent ridden it yet in the cold (just got it a few months ago) I think the extra windprotection that goes on the side might help alittle but i dont know if it is cost effective, wear good winter clothing and you should be fine.

The cold start recall is definately worth the fix. Sled starts 10 times easier.
I also personally wouldnt be without the wind deflectors, especially if your using a smaller windshield. They work great.
I would look into putting the throttle bodies back to stock, especially if your mostly trail riding.
