out of curiosity, i asked the local dealer about pre-season sales so far...

My local guy says 15 were snowchecked by April 15 
my dealer's got 6 pre order including mine. he usually has less pre orders and more sales when fall comes.

the same story from the dealer here. they claim they already sold all the phazers that they had originally planned for and are ordering more to sell in the fall.

My dealer said that mine was the 4th phazer ordered making it the most of any pre season model ordered from him. He is a Yamaha only dealer and my FX was the last pre season order he took. I would have expected more than that but I guess the lousy winter didn't help.
