I just had my phazer in the shop to get the starter replaced, got the sled home and now the sled won't charge. I charge the battery and 2 miles later the sled starts to run bad then dies. They told me it could be my stater. So my question is could they have forgot to hook something up or done something to cause this because it was fine when it went in the shop, they said it would be 1000 dollars to replace. Is there anything else it could be?

Where is the voltage regulator located? seen in another post that that could be the problem, does this have to be disconected to replace the starter?
It could be many things. They cant say for sure what is wrong till they diagnose it.Do you own a voltmeter?

No i don't own a volt meter, is there anything else i can check? I am hoping they forgot to plug something in.
You are probably right. All you can do is start checking plugs and fuses.

Make sure they hooked up the battery correctly, may be missing a connection there, as I am sure they disconnected the batt.

Took the sled in today and they checked and said it was the stater.
You need to add your location to your sig and sled year would be helpful also.
I havent heard of any stator failures before.Seems odd.

I just got one of mine back last week from the dealer, it was flashing alot of codes and first they told me it was the rectifier, replaced that and now they tell me its the stator and speedometer, est. of $1800.00 to fix, more less to say its in the garage covered up anyone ever change a stator?
It couldnt possibly be that ground block issue?

I have had my stator on a different sled re wound. It is the fraction of the price of a new one. Might be worth looking into. My dealer had sent it out to a company. This was on an 01 ac zl800
