I have a 2015 SR Viper MTX with the MC Xpress turbo 190 kit. I wrapped what I can around my exhaust but the vent on top is still getting really hot and soft. I was wondering if this is common or is there something else I can do. I bought the machine second hand and I first noticed the melted plastic after about a month of ownership.

I'd wrap that exposed pipe in header wrap and any of the exhaust that I could get to.

I have it wrapped now but I'm afraid to spend a ton of money on plastics before making sure I have the issue solved. I guess my next post will be about finding plastics cheaper than factory.

stock vipers have a heat shield/blanket that hangs loose down over the can and is attached to the edge of the hood. maybe that could be another option

Do you have the factory heat blanket that hangs from the hood? If so always make sure it's tucked in behind the bat wing before you put the side panel on othwise it will melt just like you have pictured.
