Well a few of us went to our lake today,it had just picked up another 5" of dry snow on top of the 3 " of hard pack from last weeks storm, with some slush spots,so lake was slow,no clear ice anyplace but it was a test and tune day,my grandsons were there playing with the vector and xc600 too,so it was a fun time as well. My old poo dealer has a camp we parked in sort of base camp for tinkering on clutching and stuff,he brought his 05 fusion that is now the 975 big bore, and it generally goes very good, today it was so so,and i could peddle by him 9 out of 10 times. I had mine set to max transfer, fox floats at 40lbs took my inside rear wheels out,as they were all ripped up anyway, and installed my small 3" yammi wheels in back on the outside of the rails, and they seemed to work good, there was an orange f-7 that was running preety good w/a loud can,he would hurry to line up with us,but today was not his day either, but he was a good guy,we talked and raced again, and i could run by him preety good,we both had gps he could reach 104 and my best 110,but even though i changed out my clutching 5 times anytime i could run from 108-110 but my best clutching today was stock modified some,on the primary with stock dia clutch 23 top gear and secondary dalton red spring wraped at 60 with windage plates.

110 sounds right for the conditions....
Best I could do a few weeks back on snowy slushy lake was 99 mph on my GPS in probably less than 2000 feet.
118.6 with a little juice!!

we were running the gun on snow track,at beginning of day we were around 105....but then track got pounded in good with lots of sleds running all day....i wound up end of day on hardpack at 116 on the gun.....
very tough to judge these speeds on different days, different tracks ect...speeds change from hour to hour and even moreso from track to track.
I think youre probably right where you should be....I guess thats why ICE track is at least more constistant...however Ive also seen many variations even on ICE from town to town, lake to lake and cold dry ice to milder ice....Best speed i actually saw of 120 was on a snow/ice track....which was higher then i expected by looking at track...
while on our ALL ICE track we werent seeing those speeds....i think sliders can heat up on the all ice tracks and help reduce top end speeds...
I personally would like to have a snow/hardpack track with about 75 feet of nice glare ice near the gun to grab that max speed with cool sliders.
good job!

110
Congrats on the 110 gps!!!!!!!!! Thats haulin.
What alot of people do not realize is 110 gps is fast. You here so many people on websites or the lake, Ya my sled runs 120, oor 125 etc.
I have had several sled thru the years that did 80-100 mph. Nevr owned one that did 100+ until a few years ago. Spent a about 10 grand 117gps. Not speedo speed. Radar or gps only!!! When I started to look on line? I thought I was a slow sled until radar runs. Yes, 110 is fast. Alot of sled on any given day will not run over 100. I have seen T-cats run in the low 100's. Are there sleds out there that are faster? You bet there are, but thats a whole new thread. LOL
With the right conditions, your sled will run close to the 120mph mark on a long run. I said close, meaning 115-120? I have done it once at 118 on a long pull of 2 miles? I trail ride mostly and not into lake running, but wanted to know what my RTX would do on that given day.
It is nice to hear from someone whom is honest as to there speed they run also, Hell. I have a bunch of buds that run around on the area trails and I think the slowest they ride is like 140 or something. LOL They just crack me up. One of my buds, claims his 2000 mxz 700 will do 130!!!!!!!!!
So hitting 110 in the real world is great for such a wonderful riding machine!!!!!!!!!!!just my 2 cents

Ya i kinda thought it was going good, the best i ever did with my 05 confusion on the same lake in near perfect conditions was the same 110 same gps,but the fun part was the look on the faces of all the guy with the real fast mxz70-and 800 and the zr900 and f-7s when they saw dave and myself out there blasting maybe they thought his sled was a stock fusion, but when they lined up and we all ran near 1/2 mile i was first by alot followed by the 975 fusion than the next bunch was all clustered up,but the only other one who ran us a few more times was this orange f-7 and i talked to the guy after and he had the same garmen gps i have,he stated his best speed this day was 104-105 once,so i guess they have hooked up with either older rx1 and apex that may have not run as fast, cause he seemed very surprised that mine went bu so quick.
