I've had enough with my skidoo REV XP - too much heartache. Love the ride but hate the high maintenance and the way BRP treats their customers and dealers. Thinking of heading back to the Yamaha Viper.
But I recently saw on a youtube review that the viper only has Hi/Lo settings on hand warmers! Guys, tell me it ain't so... Why would they go back to 20 year old technology that requires constant fiddling? I was irritated with my 2003 RX1 hand warmers not retaining the settings when I shut the machine off and I know they changed that the very next model year. I couldn't understand why they'd not include that feature but the warmers were fantastic! But now this? What are they thinking?

Well......if that will make or break the deal I don't think you really wanted to change anyways , they work awesome , leave mine on low all the time and my hands are warm .
Skidoo's are great sleds and they use to have just hi/ low as well

The hi lo work good on mine.
I have always been a fan of the rheostat type control on handwarmers, but have found that the hi/low setting on the viper work real well. If its cold and u need extra hi, if they get too warm its a simple push with ur thumb and the low setting is fine. I would never let that deter you from buying a viper. I absolutely love mine.
The hi works very well. I usually have them on low.
One night my girlfriend went riding with me and I set the hand warmers on hi. After 10 minutes I stopped to check on her. She says how do I turn down the hand warmers? I told her that's a nice problem to have.

X2 sounds like you're looking for an excuse not to buy one. At least these work without yamaheaters09nytro said:Well......if that will make or break the deal I don't think you really wanted to change anyways , they work awesome , leave mine on low all the time and my hands are warm .

Not only do they work well but you don't need to take your eyes off the trail to adjust--no bar gauge to look at. A non-issue if you ask me.

I actually prefer it, way easier to select on the trail without having to cycle through and watch the dash to see what your doing.

If this is what keeps you from buying a new Viper then I don't think your really ready to get rid of the Ski Doo. I have been riding Yamaha's for the last 10 years (4 sleds) and one of the things I hated the most was the stupid toggle up/down hand and thumb warmer switches. Even more so on my Nytro in which they utilize the same button for both functions and you can't adjust them down. Only adjust to high and then start over again. Plus the fact that you have to watch the scale on the gauge cluster to see where you have them set at. Not good to do while moving down a trail at 55 mph. The low/off/high switchgear from AC is excellent as far as I'm concerned. Easy to use, doesn't require you to take your eyes off the trail ahead of you while riding, nicely backlit at night. 100% better design than Yamaha's. By the way, my Viper now has 1,400 mi on it with no issues at all and I love every bit of it. Go buy one, you won't regret it.

No problem here , also like that u don't need to look down when u are riding. Get away from that ski BOO and buy the viper. I have almost 2000 Kms on mine ,and just want to ride it all the time. Best sled I've ever ridden. Lots of complements on the look of the sled.

I like it better than before, switch it over and done....don't have to look at the display. Much safer driving down the trail too
