When I talked to hurricane they told me if I already had the intake and header mod done then porting would be worth it. Gain around 10-15hp is what they told me

I'm not at all saying that it's not worth it, I'm simply saying that you cant take a certain claim of "X" gain in power and expect that it's going to be exactly that on every machine, or even that it's going to be a gain at a noticeable rpm range.
I'm making a bunch of motor mods over that summer and am getting my head ported as well, but after talking to the guys at Recreational Motorsports (they're local to me) who've come highly recommended, they've said that the head is very efficient to begin with (this is on an Apex though). They port heads on a flow bench, but stated that unless I were to go with lower compression pistons actually complete the whole package (boosted application) that it wouldn't necessarily be worth the money of tearing the motor down and all the little costs that go along with it.
It makes sense to me as the same rules hold true in the automotive world?
