Primary belt width?

Ok I have installed my team clutch kit, it comes with a spring and weight for the primary clutch. I installed the weights per teams directions (1 gram in the tip) and the new spring. Now my belt clearance is way too wide and engages hard off of idle. How do you adjust or change the belt width, from what I am gathering its not quite as simple as a good ol' P-85 Polaris clutch.

What are your thoughts on running a wider belt, 1 7/16" verses a 1 3/8"

Any help would be great!

In order to change belt clearance you have to change the 1/2 moon colors that are part of the stationary clutch sheave. If you want a little softer clutch engagement you could go to a Yamaha O-P-O primary spring. The primary spring that comes with the Team setup is a 35-143 spring and the Yamaha O-P-O primary spring is 30-137. A 1-7/16" belt will stay "engaged" all the time.

Changing your spring and weights will not change your belt clearence.
So, I think what Allan is saying is that the Team setup is raising your engagement because of the stiff primary spring and possibly the change you did to your weights.

So..same belt same clutch..you just changed the arms and spring...

Where can I get the Half moon pieces that are machined to a certain thickness? The one I took out of my clutch measure .200" and my belt wap is at .100 so I'd like to at least take about .045" off to bring my belt gap to about .055. I thought that I saw some where somebody was machining these.
