Proline Kit Update

Gentlemen and APEXER1 (Purdy Racing), once and for all I am not a rep for Proline nor the Canadian Distributor. If you check, I joined here in April of 2005. I don't post often, but after buying a Yamaha Apex (coming from a Cat), I have reviewed this site religiously on a daily basis. In fact I almost bought an Ulmer Kit, which my previous posts(do a search) would indicate. For personal reasons, I held off on the Ulmer Kit, which had nothing to do with the quality/performance as I had heard all good things about them and had spoken to Allen's dad a few times. I have always enjoyed tinkering and sharing my experiences. I never imagined offering up my findings regarding a clutch kit would muster up such negative/ignorant responses on a site, when the soul purpose was to inform on a product that I was very pleased with. I was also going to report to the members if the aluminimum rivots and/or changing the sec spring improved performance any...I realise this may be long winded, but take it for what it's worth. Hopefully this satisfies the doubters, if not, that's unfortunate because I would like to continue to share info regarding these awesome new sleds.-SS

WOW...guys this sounds harsh...lets just work on making the sleds fast and not worry about these other guys.

But I am pretty sure you have to be a Dalton Dealer to get Dalton Parts....dont quote me on that.

For me the rivot made quite a bit of difference, rpms are down where they should be and acceleration picked up. This clutch kit is for sale in classifieds.

That's alright bigwin, mission accomplished..they came on here, pushed the product and left the site and are now selling the product, right under everyone's noses.
He's brilliant. Has a nice website. But's he's not TY!

Well he did come here with the help of other well known members to push prolines products and now is gone forever. We have two more paying advertisers here now because of them so maybe we should thank them. The only sales ***** handles are the Canadian sales as he is the dealer fro all of Canada. Why doesnt someone who ordered the kit and is happy with it tear it apart and tell us what is needed to build our own clutch setup which would be much like the proline setup. They use Dalton parts and Dalton is a paying advertiser here also. I will not buy one through this dealer for Canada. I dont trust him.
I don't think you have a clue what you are talking about.

I have 2 kits I could let him use...I would have to get one more....I have no problem with him testing them.

Anybody taking up Viper34 on his offer??????????????????

Mighty, you took the words right out of my mouth ;)!

Someone needs to take Viper34 up on his offer. If I had a 4 stroke with someones clutch kit he'd have my kit by now to test.

Yea its a real shame most tests are not done with any accuracy to give them some legitimacy. lol Dog ............................Sled Dog :tg:

Hey guys I am very curious about all the different types of clutch kits. Here is my offer, We can all go up to my house / condo in Hurley, WI and run them all, my RTX is stock except for studs, so we just need sleds with the different clutch kits installed already. I have a week saved in March (12 - 19th) Holds 7 guys comfortable, or bring a sleeping bag and it holds up to 10 or 12. Since it would be towards the end of the riding season, No charge for anyone..................... I just wanna get the best kit available for me...... even if I have to wait until next season

so not to jump in,,, but do the kits work in general??? cuess as you all know ,each sled is a little differant some cant spin high and others do... because the speed shop hear ,,,that sells everthing,,, has them,,, and have got lots of stuff from him in prescott,, ont and is a verry good person to deal with ,, so if they work,, i wana get it from him, thanks... oh buy the way i talked with the speed shop #*$&@. and he said that he could get them, fast, being that he sells for lots of differant parts supplyers,,, thanks

...just buy the kits and find out for your selfs.. Nobodies going to believe the tests any way. Every ones already made up there minds any way........

Now hold on there big feller......I would love to see tests done... and I will bet that the vast majority of other members would too....
It is things like this that improve the breed, everybody learns including the manufacturers.....Allen and Jeff were all for the idea, and that says a lot about how they believe in what they sell.

Well Tom you got so much on your back running the site, but if you could get those up to Brad (probably want to wait until after Manitoba) that would be so great. This is so value added, brings what the site is all about to the next level.

Viper 34 is the perfect guy, the unbiased clutch guru, to do this.
Golden opportunity that should not get squandered. Wausau to Rhinelander where Brad is makes shipping back and forth cheap and quick too

You are 100% correct.. I have put same kit on 3 different attaks all with same miles. 2 will pull 10600-10700 rpm and other will pull 10200- 10300 rpm.. One of the motors is weaker than the other two. I have seen this time and again.. MW s stock attak is pulling 11000rpm and a lot of stockers with miles wont pull 10500. I know for a fact Mighty Warrior has out pulled a clutched sled with a kit from this site. Now his runs strong. Stock clutching on his.
