Pulled the trigger on a 2018 Sidewinder!

I have a spring order done on a 2018 rtx se ....I just came off a viper rtx (just plain slow)....I'm hoping the sw isn't anything like the viper
I would like to add that I have never rode a turbo sled before....not sure what to expect
Addiction. Plain and simple. It's like crack for sled heads. Congrats.

I have several hundred miles on a 1100 Cat tuned turbo and love the power they make. Test drove a XTX Sindwinder last week. I can honestly say I could ride that sled stock, it run very strong. Now I may change my mind after putting some miles on it :)

well I have 3 friends that just ordered brp 850 each.... they all smack talk me on how bad they are goin to whoop the heavy yammie....hahaha ...I sure hope not

you and your friends can check on that brand's forum and read what the overwhelming majority of their loyal followers have said after they have ridden a winder. you will not be disappointed. ya done good.

" I sure hope not" ???? My god those guys have no idea the WHOOPING that there going to get by you it's not even going to funny, bielieve me... when they say it's lonely up front, it sometimes is. But the giggling in your helmut you'll be doing will make you forget about that real quickly.

and if it will relieve your anxiety, cause it will be a long summer, do whatever you can to ride one soon. no on second thought forget it, that will make the wait seem like an eternity.

Remind them of how heavy a Yamaha is when your pulling there broken Doo in on the tow rope!!!

180 came directly from Yamaha. Marketing explained that they wanted to throw a number out there that wouldn't disappoint. Video is on Utube.

actually I watched an interview with a yamaha spokesman who said thats a minimum at elevation number....the real number based on the averages of many dyno pulls are 204-205 imho

Not a good idea don't do that !!!! I repeat don't do that !!!! Summer is already too long, I'm not sure even I'll be able to wait for next weekend let alone the summer.

That's where I saw it. Hahaha.....

New guy.....Don't let your friends sucker you into a short race. Your new turbo at a 20mph roll can't be touched by an 850. There is nothing they can do and no way to get in front of you.

I just ordered a 2018 Sidewinder L-TX LE and I am very excited about the decision. I can't wait for next winter. Thank you for everyone on this site the provides information both good and bad. This sled looks to be my dream sled right out of the box.

Dana, You do know that you can't come out and ride with me next year, as they just banned the Sidewinder, and the Cat 9000 from Tug Hill, as they are too fast, and causing problems.

Gordon, I know it's NewYork so anything is possible, but you are joking "" RIGHT""????

Time and time again that seems to be all the Doo guys have, "Yamaha is too heavy!" Their marketing seems to work on their customers.

It's like some sick spell.

Personally.....Having 850's flying all around me would be awesome.
I'd make them all line up and race each other. And if they asked why. I'd say "cause I'm only racing the fast one."
