Heya, ive been looking aroumd about gutting the apex exhaust, mostly done on rx1 from what ive seen, and got mixed review on apex, some said it would cause problems with the exup system, some other said they had no problem, and some mentionned some kinda "Pvc"? Also i couldnt not find a guide to do it properly, if anyone know about one.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I did it on an 06 apex, IMO it is too loud and drones a bit. I had to use Ear plugs under my helmet . I am currently running a yoshimura R1 muffler under tunnel. It sounds much better, not as loud but louder than stock. Plus considerably lighter, the only downside is its not a bolt on. Tunnel looks much cleaner and you will have to figure out a seat mount as it bolts to the muffler

Right thanks, if its really that loud then i should avoid it, but on your experience what could be a bolt on or something that wont be too costly and sounds great?
Another question while being at it, i had my apex at around 12k km, well maintained and all, but i am aware that they tend to eat donut and all, what would be the side effect or sounds if its the case

I had an old exhaust laying around but you could pick up a used one for less than 100 bucks. Spent another $30-40 on aluminum sheet and rivets.
Usually if you have an exhaust leak it will sound louder, popping and occasional backfire after a wot run are common also

Take a pair of thick leather gloves or tennis balls and plug both exhaust outlets. Any leak in the exhaust system will be pretty evident. If the sled stalls, no leaks, you’re good to go. At 12 000km you’re certainly knocking on the door to needing donuts, if you don’t already.

11+ apex are not as bad on donuts as the older ones. i rode my 11 hard and it did not need donuts until it his 11000 miles. it has north of 27000 km (16000 mi) on it now and they are still good.
