I had an 06 Nytro and the guy before had about 4-5 Red LED lights on the sled when I bought it. one on each a arm and two on each ide of the running the boards. I kind of liked them as if you were turned off at night you could flick those on and were fairly visible and gave you light to kind of see if you needed. He put them on that sled pretty good beyond caulking the whole entire wires on heat diffusers on the bottom of the footguard. I actually had to replace a light and they were 20 bucks peice. See if there is any set ups people are using that maybe fit the sled better and maybe more cost effective.

Check out streetsourceled.com. I don't know about cost effective but I put them on a friends rev and they look and work great. Pretty durable too. He smashed the ones on the boards pretty go and they still work.

Price and do you think neon lights will hold up to banging around like an LED would?

I have pretty much the same kit as Supa Dexta and it works good.
Make sure that the lights are legal in your state. In Michigan you can not run with tinted headlights or underbody lights.

You're right about the headlights... but I've run the "underbody" lights the past 3 years at night everywhere I ride (all over Michigan's U.P.), never been stopped. I'd like to see that law in print - got a link to back up what your saying (as it pertains to sleds -not automobiles)?

I started installing mine tonight.. Only thing I noticed was the 3m tape on the back wasnt going to be good enough.. I didnt have the heat on in the garage, which is part of the problem... So what I did was take some gasket maker and put a smear on the backside as well there is a tiny hole on the opposite end as the wire enters the light, that I figured should be sealed up.. Also put it on the switch to hold it in place.
I've used gasket maker before for similar things and it works great.. Gives them a little bit of flex, and a real good hold. With all the temp changes and moisture this will help to keep them mounted. And they are bright!
