Hey All,

I am literally typing this with greasy hands, and am hoping someone can help me out here. I ordered a new driveshaft with extroverts from Ulmer. The old driveshaft has these two collar things with set screws on the driveshaft right against the drivers. (Number 4 in the pic attached) However, not only is there no way these are coming off my old driveshaft, but there is no way to install them back in the same location since the extros are mounted closer to the center of the shaft.

My question is, what are these collars for, and are they required with the extros?

Don't worry about them, with the extroverts u don't need them. You can put them on if you want but not necessary. Running mine without them. Hope that helps buddy

thank you! I actually just got them off, and was pretty confused as to their purpose. If they are there to keep the drivers from moving, they would only help to keep the driver from moving out towards the end of the shaft.

They are exactly that. They are to keep the drivers from moving on the shaft. This can be a problem when studs are installed in the track and hard cornering on ice or hard packed snow.

The extroverts press on so hard this is not an issue. You dont need them. Eric

They were installed after the first year of srx sleds to the outside drivers because of the one sided design. When you load the outside drivers, they want to flex outward. They had trouble keeping them from sliding.
Extros drive from both sides equally and will stay where they are. I think you would burn the track sideways through the tunnel before you would drag two extroverts along that shaft.

I put em on before I saw the responses to the thread. Is there any down side, other than adding weight, to installing these with extros?
