Bought my 06 apex last season, never liked my rear suspension so I bought an r motion skid off a 2019 doo. Have any of you guys done the swap, looking for tips as I've never done a project like this. Going from stock 121 to the 129. Any good tunnel extension kits for what I need? Thanks.

I'm actually planning the exact same swap in the near future. I may or may not extend the tunnel though. Will determine that after the swap.
Another member did the R-motion swap last season with great success.
Scan a few pages back and you should find it.
Tracks usa makes some nice extensions.

Thanks just read up on the forum post. Was thinking with the added length I could fit the linq system on the tunnel extension.I'm actually planning the exact same swap in the near future. I may or may not extend the tunnel though. Will determine that after the swap.

I don't think you actually need a tunnel extension, you can get by with a kicked out rear flap. R motion is a good unit.

Little update I’m getting started on the swap I bought a 128 track was told it should fit my 129 r motion. I read Brandon’s post on his r motion swap but was wondering if the new bolt holes would be the same from his 137 skid and I could use the measurements thanks.

This is really cool, the best rear suspension in the business being put in a Apex, you will have the reliability and the ride, now just add a turbo and those Sidewhiner guy's will be staring at your tail lights.

How did your swap work out? Did the 128 inch track work? How do you like it?Little update I’m getting started on the swap I bought a 128 track was told it should fit my 129 r motion. Just rode a 2017 800XRS Doo with a 129 track yesterday. Those things are INCREDIBLE! Its fun putting a real performance skid in a apex, completely changes the demeanor. Glad the Rmotion is working out, aftermarket pickings are getting slim. Just not ready for the M20 yet as they are not a good match for my riding style but someday I am sure I will be riding on their air system, until then I will be pounding the ZX2 and with my parts skid I have enough to make it last the next 10 years LOL.
I rode a Rmotion XRS 21.5 last year. It was a nice sled, still same buzzy 2 smoke but nice. I wouldn't spend the money on that but I see why guys do. The engine was surprisingly torqey and strong. I did like how I never adjusted a thing and pounded it hard and it never flinched. That was the downfall of the Apex, had it come with a performance suspension the 'heavy' tank adage would have never started.

Rode a '22 Renegade X yesterday. The rmotion X rear suspension is very nice. The front end... its okay, pushes a lot but I am sure it has something to do with how aggressive they are with weight transfer. Great torque, a bit non-linear on throttle, it also felt very light, quick, no top end of course but still, it handled very well over chatter/rollers in a straight line, it surprised me how well it soaked up the bumps. The guy I traded with road the attak for about 10 miles, smile a mile wide, loved the linear power, hated the rider position.

Got it all in and proper now, took a couple tries the measurements need to be EXACT or the skid will completely bottom out and be undrivable. Other than that it’s been great so far, way more comfortable. One thing I might change in the off season is my springs, I can’t seem to get them stiff enough I weigh around 190 with gear over 200. And yes a 128 2.52 pitch track fits around 129 r motion skid, a lot of guys end up changing their drivers to 2.86 then you can run a 129. After all the headaches I would still do it again. How did your swap work out? Did the 128 inch track work? How do you like it?

Hey G did you end up adding a tunnel extension? Could you post a pick from further away? I want to see how it looks with the longer skid/track compared to stock in relation to the snow flap.
